Environmental policy

IGS Italia considers the protection of the environment, compliance with the relevant legal provisions related to the environment, reduction of energy consumption, pollution prevention and improvement of corporate environmental performance as a key elements of its business strategy.

The management of IGS Italia will make every effort to improve environmental performance by preventing or reducing environmental impacts associated with the company’s activities through a coordinated production management and constant monitoring of the processes and activities connected with the environment.

As a consequence, continuous activities will be scheduled and implemented regarding the involvement,
training and updating of personnel at all levels of the organization and in particular those engaged in activities related to the environment and preventing pollution.

IGS Italia is also committed to communicate and distribute its Environmental Policy to all staff and all other persons working on behalf of the company and will make this policy publicly available outside its organization.

IGS Italia considers environmental protection, safety, quality, compliance with legal requirements and profit objectives of equal importance.

All employees of IGS Italia are directly involved:

1. to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and other requirements to which IGS Italia has committed regarding the environmental aspects of its activities;

2. to systematically detect and monitor the environmental aspects of their own activities and the consequent impact on the environment, with particular reference to significant parameters for the identification and evaluation of environmental aspects, such as energy consumption, waste differentiation and the reduction of waste output from manufacturing processes. The general objective is to reduce the consumption of all energy sources, compared in terms of TOE (Tonnes of Oil Equivalent) and to increase the level of waste differentiation;

3. to evaluate, to prevent and to reduce possible environmental impacts resulting from new products or
emergency situations, in particular the selection of production processes and the choice of materials during the design phase;

4. to develop, to implement, to review and to improve the environmental management system of IGS Italia. Proposals from employees will be rewarded in case they allow the company to meet its environmental objectives ahead of schedule;

5. to develop and to implement programs for the achievement of the specified environmental objectives and targets in order to improve continuously their own environmental performance, particularly considering the reduction of energy consumption and waste differentiation;

6. to increase the commitment, information and training of personnel, suppliers and external organizations regarding environmental protection through simple and visual communication at the workplace;

7. to maintain open and constructive relationships with the Public Administration and with communities and with individuals who have a legitimate interest in the environmental performance of the company in order to strengthen and improve IGS Italia’s image.
